Used PS2 Games
Electronics November 20th, 2008My son is something of a video game whiz and goes through titles very quickly. Even though I don’t let him sit in front of the television for too long or play with his PlayStation2 until all his homework and chores are done, he still manages to solve a game in a couple of weeks or less. It gets pretty expensive trying to keep up with my son’s skills, so I’ve been trying to buy used PS2 games whenever possible.
One used to have to search high and low for used games, particularly if you were looking for new or popular games. If you were looking for something a few months or a year old this was no big deal. Finding the brand new titles for a good price, however, was close to impossible. In my case if I couldn’t find the title I wanted I was reduced to renting the games I wanted from the video store, if they were in. Which they certainly weren’t very often. This became very frustrating.
Things are much better now; you can find used PS2 games just about anywhere. Video game trade and resell stores have popped up in local communities by the dozens. Now it’s no problem finding good titles in great shape, without having to go rooting through dark stores or ask about waiting lists. I’m actually having trouble keeping up with all the new titles coming out. If I happen to want a title that is not available locally, it’s not a problem. There are tons of websites that carry used PS2 games and also thousands of people selling their used games via auction.
I’ve found that on a few occasions the online stores and auctions selling used PS2 games are actually cheaper than in the local stores. Also there is so just much selection that they almost certainly have the games that you are looking for. And I definitely would keep an eye out for online sales. When these big online stores decide to clear their inventory you can save huge.
Buying used PS2 games is a fantastic cost-effective alternative to spending $50 or more on the most popular titles of the season. So if you’re looking for a great way to save money on your video game habit, consider buying used PS2 games instead of new.
