How my good mate repaired my computer

without comments

I have been suffering of late suffering from a frustratingly slow and unreliable computer in fact I have been getting so annoyed with it of late that I bought the issue up in a conversation in a local bar. The man I was talking to was my friend Brian who is a total computer geek. I told Bryan of the issue and asked for his help picking a new computer. Bryan thought about what I had said and while fiddling with his ginger beard replied with “You wont need to get a new computer”. I explained once more to Bryan who annoyed I was with my computer in fact I was so annoyed I thought about running it over with my car. In fact I was a little mad with Bryan for not recognizing my pain. However Bryan went on to explain his thinking further and said “I think the problem you have is Windows registry errors mate”. I guess what Bryan said would make sense to most computer guys but to me it was gobbledygook what Bryan said makes sense to computer savvy guys but to me it was like another language. Not wanting to seem foolish I carried on as if I understood Bryan and said “Ah I see”. By this time Bryan had obviously noticed from the distant look in my eyes that I really had no idea what he was talking about. He pulled out a pen and pad from his bag and wrote on the pad the web address www.fix-this-computer.com. He then went on to explain that I should visit this site and look under the Fix Windows Registry Errors section and from this I should select an option for a free registry scan which would identify and registry errors present on my computer and after this would give me the option to repair them. I followed Bryan’s instructions to the letter and now my computer runs very well indeed.

Mac gain 10% of Web Share

without comments

Web use statistics prove that the Mac continues to gain market share from Windows-based computers. According to various web analysts Mac web share has increased by 0.3% since December 2008 which is a staggering figure. Even use of Apple’s Safari browser have increased to 8.29 percent in January, up from 7.93% in December alone. However some of those Safari hits come iPhone and iPod touch users and others come from people who are fooled into installing Apple’s browser on their Windows machine.

The strong percentage increase in December could of been down to the fact that people are more inclined to stay at home where the Mac is more of a home computer rather than business so that may explain it. However even though people returned to work in January 2008 which is a sign that Windows is really starting to loose its grip on the web market.

The seemingly minor monthly rise works out to an annualized rate of 3.6% and 3.6% rise in market share is far from small potatoes especially considering that in the declining market through which the world is currently grunting and groaning, every user is precious. Apple always seem to do better with machines for the home rather than the business because they are far more fun and easier to use. Windows machines are normally used in the office for business where Windows machines are very powerful and useful.

This is just adding to the ever growing battle between Windows and Apple Mac which seems to never end. Personally, I really don’t mind either machine interface. They offer unique things depending on what you want to use it for. Either home or office. The choice is entirely up to you! Although I personally use Mac machines as they are far easier to use and never let you down. Microsoft Windows machines are more inclined to work for about two years and thats it.

New virus to hit Microsoft

without comments

I wanted to write this article to help graduates finding graduate jobs. I have recently graduated from Southampton University in the UK and am currently looking for my first graduate job. I graduated in business finance and my dream employment position would be working as a financial consultant somewhere/anywhere! It is a common fact that many people have a real hard in time in finding employment after studying at University but I never knew it was this hard! When I completed studying at University in June I wasn’t even thinking of finding a job but now I can’t think of anything else!

The first mistake to make when you are trying to find a graduate job after studying is getting there too late. Students from all around the world could potentially want the same job as you are going for so timing is everything. You have to get in the face of employers and express to them that you want the job more than any other candidate who is applying for the job as well. Having a good CV and well spoken tone on the phone are essential.

Timing is a big part of it. Experience is another. I have been on the phone to several potential graduate employers and they all have one thing in common. The need for industry experience. This is quite possibly the biggest clash in getting a desired graduate job. As you have been a student for either three or four years you are lacking in any relevant industry experience. It gets frustrating after a while to actually hope that an employer will give you a slight chance or at least give you some helpful advice to guide you into the right area. Subsequently, getting that chance can open so many doors. Once you have experience and a degree you are highly employable by a lot of companies around the world. Yet it is just getting you into that first job.

There are plenty of recruitment agencies around the country that can help but if you ask me good old fashioned research and phone calls are what gets you the furthest ahead. Going through agencies would cut out a lot of hassle but you are losing the personal edge of talking to your potential employer yourself which is far more favourable. I would recommend having a few days to search on the internet for the area of employment you would like to target and simply, phone, phone, phone! In my opinion that is the only way to get somewhere!

How To Prevent Computer Attacks And Crashes

After that, the business and owner related programs are uploaded, and these programs are double checked to make sure they do not have any harmful secondary programs included. An additional precaution is that any availability to the internet should be severely limited, this is usually a firewall installation to prevent the downloading of harmful programs or un-authorized internet connections that will bring additional problems from hackers and phishing programs.

By ensuring that the company’s email and networks are the only ones that can be opened by the employees, this practice actually helps make sure that employees are working during their time at the office, and not just playing around using up their employers bandwidth.

Good luck, however, in trying to prevent one hundred percent of your employees from not being able to download files, songs, or chat programs on the office computer. Having said that, it is now time to turn your attention to one of the enemies of the cyber industry these days and that is spyware.

With spyware being so easily undetected by the computer owners until the otherwise functioning system stops working, there is no doubt about the brilliance of the spyware masters, just as there is no doubt about their evilness. Spyware’s entire purpose is to collect information without the users’ knowledge or consent, and there is nothing admirable about that. There is no getting around the fact that this sadly proliferating and damaging tool is a total invasion of privacy.

No one can justify the gathering of personal information about other people without their knowledge, and that is exactly what spyware does to the unsuspecting computer user. This proliferating and destructive tool is a complete invasion of privacy.

What makes the situation worse is that some of these illegal operations are actually tied to legal companies who provide legal programs.

While there are adware spyware removal programs, these programs do not always get rid of adware or spyware completely. A large percentage of adware spyware removal programs are actually cons that are spyware in actuality. Any adware spyware removal program that you have your sights are should be thoroughly researched, and once a keeper is found, that adware spyware removal program should be held on to with dear life, for they are rare specimens indeed.
