Skype Will Kill the Phone Provider
Over 10 years ago mobile phones were as big as a shoe and only had the technical ability for the owner to enter phone numbers and make calls. If we now move forward to the current year, we are seeing a wide variety of phones being released with truly advanced features.
But probably the biggest innovation is the creation of internet access; you can now access the internet just as you would do on a computer. And this is causing network providers a huge headache. We all know for years that service providers have been making their money by over charging customers huge amounts for calls and text messages.
But as internet access on mobiles phones grow so do access to free wifi spots, so this could potentially wipe out all of the mobile phone networks, because what is happening is that people are connecting to the internet and accessing Skype, which gives you the ability to have free calls between Skype users. Most of the UK providers have already banned VoIP access, but Nokia’s recent release of their N97 come’s pre installed with Skype giving users the ability to easily access the service.
The mobile providers just should not be blocking these things as it ends up making them look terrible. We are at the moment in a huge economic downturn, folk are looking for the best way to save money. I truly believe that the number one reason the network three has grown is because they offer their customers the freedom choice. If the mobile providers want to stay in business then they need to get together and find a way to join up with services such as Skype for example, this way they could share income, but blocking is definitely not the way to approach this.

Technology and the Mobile Phone
Gadgets are excellent. They make people’s lives that little bit easier and allow us to get through things much easier. They are central to all of our lives and we can take them everywhere. On holiday or event to the local shops, as well as playing a significant role at work. The functionality of gadgets such as iphones or laptops allows us to stay connected with our friends and family, almost anywhere.
So what gadgets feature most in people’s lives? I would argue the most common gadget that we rely heavily upon nowadays is the mobile phone. In fact so many people have said they actually feel naked without it. We depend upon mobile phones for a number of different things and the price of them has dropped considerably over the last few years with pay as you go phones almost being given away by retailers.
As the mobile phone is the most commonly used gadget, what do people actually use them for? This has so many answers that it would take pages and pages to get near to answering. One particular benefit of the mobile phone has been the fact that they allow us an element of safety in that they provide us with a constant line of communication between us and our loved ones.
Mobile phones have actually helped save people’s lives before. I have heard a number of different stories about people who have been adrift at sea and managed to contact their relatives. They have then contacted the local coastguard and a rescue operation has been initiated. Without mobile phones it is hard to imagine just what these people in need of help would have done and their lives were in fact saved.
As I had previously written, mobile phones are integrated within the very fabric of the business community and I often think about how businesses managed before they were with us. From pizza delivery drivers calling in the next order, to large warehouses that give them to their staff to communicate with, mobile phones are a type of gadget that is integral to almost all businesses.
Mobiles, as a gadget can also offers some restrictions to some people. In the past employees were able to utilise the weekend to unwind and have few interruptions afforded them. This subsequently allowed people to relax, and get ready for the next working week.
As employees have their phones with them at the weekend, it is subsequently difficult to get away from the pressures of work as people are easily contacted on the phone. Whilst the weekend used to be a time of enjoyment, the trusty gadget ringing can be quite a pain, particularly if it is work related.
The latest laptops information can be found throughout the internet. Notebook Laptops and Gadgets news and technonlogy articles are all areas of research worth considering as laptops and gadgets are developing all the time and

The 10 year technological development of gadgets
Gadgets are everywhere in today’s society. In comparison, if you consider as early as 10 years ago the amount of gadgets in people’s homes was significantly less. It is hard to imagine just how people manage to cope in this day and age without the many gadgets that are available. Clearly, as time has progressed the availability of them has increased significantly.
What gadgets are there out there that we can now have access to? The most common gadget that we use is the trusty mobile phone. We often use our mobiles without thinking and it is certainly an essential tool that we take where ever we go. So many people are that dependant on their phones that they feel naked without it and use it frequently for home and work.
At home, the most common gadget that some people have is the MP3 player, and this was not in existence as little as 10 years ago. With MP3 players we can store all of our favourite tunes and songs and subsequently listen to hours and hours of high quality music; indeed, the sound of the mp3 player is as good as, if not better than the traditional CD system.
As a small child I was given a cassette walkman as a birthday present, and I felt so happy. The large, metal box had orange headphones and massive grey buttons. I was so happy the next day when I walked into school with my large portable walkman. Today’s mp3 players are tiny in comparisons and the sound quality would have been so much improved on my walkman. I would not have ever thought of insuring my old casette, but insurance for expensive gadgets is becomming more common, and this type of gadget insurance can be purchased from companies that provide computer insurance.
The development of Mp3 players in the last 10 years has been incredible. The first mp3 player I owned was quite big, although it did last for many years and the sound quality was good. You can actually buy waterproof mp3 players. Not splash proof, but waterproof, as in you are able to go swimming with them and this would break the monotony of swimming up and down quite nicely.
The iphone is the latest gadget that many people are now frequently purchasing. I have an iphone and I struggle to comprehend how I managed before. With the iphone I am able to check the emails that I have been sent and this is so good for my business when customers need to get back to me. When I first go into computers I find it hard to think my phone would have the same power as my fist computer.
A large amount if people are heavily reliant upon gadgets and have them all over their home an indeed on their person. Even though over the last 10 years there has been lots of development, over the next 10 years I would argue there will be more development to such an extent that we will recollect with amusement the technology we now consider to be cutting edge.
As the risk of damaging portable gadgets is high, gadget insurance would provide protection accordingly. Many specialist computer insurance specialists offer this type of insurance cover.
